Using eDrop /eAdd

Drop after the first week of classes (Academic Calendar)
*If you are a University College or Freshman Engineering student, you will NOT be able to drop a class without first meeting with your academic advisor*.

  1. Search "drop classes" on One.IU.
  2. Select the Drop or Add Classes (after 1st week of classes) app.
  3. Choose Late Drop/Add Classes.
  4. This will take you to the eDrop/eAdd (electronic Drop/Add).
  5. You can track the progress of your drop request using Track My eDocs app in One.IU (steps below)

NOTE:  Until you receive an email confirming the success of your eDrop request, you are still enrolled in the class.  Dropping classes could result in reduction or repayment of financial aid. Please refer questions about fee payment to the Office of the Bursar.

Add a class after the first week of classes (Academic Calendar)

  1. Search "add classes" on One.IU.
  2. Select the Drop or Add Classes (after 1st week of classes) app.
  3. Choose Late Drop/Add Classes.
  4. This will take you to the eDrop/eAdd (electronic Drop/Add). Follow the steps in the system to Add only.
  5. You can track the progress of your add requests using Track My eDocs in One.IU.  Contact your instructor to alert him/her that you have an active eAdd request that needs their action.

Drop a Class AND Add a Class in the same transaction after the first week of classes (Academic Calendar)

  1. Search "drop or add classes" on One.IU.
  2. Select the Drop or Add Classes (after 1st week of classes) app.
  3. Choose Late Drop/Add Classes.
  4. This will take you to the eDrop/eAdd (electronic Drop/Add). Follow the steps in the system to Drop/add together.

NOTE:  Both the drop and add requests must be individually approved before any changes to your schedule will be in effect.  If the drop request is approved but the add request is not, NEITHER action will occur and your schedule will remain unchanged.  The Drop/Add together option is designed this way to make sure you stay in full-time status.  If remaining in full-time status is not a concern, you may want to consider submitting separate drop and add requests as a result.

  1. You can track the progress of your drop and/or add requests using Track My eDocs found in One.IU.
