(Explanation of error codes)
Code: Department Consent Required to Enroll in Class, Add Not Processed.
Explanation: The class that you are trying to enroll in requires students to get permission from that department before you enroll.
Solution: In order to get permission to take the class,
contact the department associated with the class and ask to be authorized to register for it.
For a list of campus departments and phone numbers, visit
http://www.iupui.edu/academic/schoolsdepts.htm.
Code: Time Scheduling Conflict for class ##A## and ##B##, not enrolled.
Explanation: The class that you are trying to enroll in is scheduled to be held at the same time and day as a class that is already on your schedule. You cannot be in two places at once!
Solution: Enroll in a class that is held at a different time or day. Or drop the class on your schedule that is conflicting with the class that you are trying to add.
Code: Hold on record, Add not processed.
Explanation: At least one department at IUPUI has placed you on a checklist to prevent you from registering for classes. Registration will not be possible until the hold has been released.
Solution: See "I tried to register for
classes but OneStart said I have a hold on my record, What do I do now?"
In the FAQ .
Code: Maximum term Unit Load exceeded
Explanation: This means that you are trying to register for too many credit hours in one semester.
Students are allowed to carry a credit hour load of 18 hours in fall and spring and 7 hours each summer session.
Solution: If you are planning to drop
another class, do that first. Then add the new class after making sure it
is
open.

I’m trying to register for classes but
OneStart only shows my previous semesters attended, not the one in which I’m trying to register for.
There are several different scenarios that could be occurring.
1.) If you have not attended class at IUPUI in over 12 months, and are an undergraduate student, you should
contact the Enrollment Center at 274-4591. If you are a graduate student, contact your school or department
(Business,Education etc.) to
have your record reactivated. After your record has been reactivated, you will need to continue to step 2.
2.) If you only missed one semester or after you have completed step 1, you need to call (317) 274-1519 and ask to
be "Term Activated" for the current semester.
3.) After you are term activated, allow 20-30 minutes for system changes to take place.
Then there will be a link for the semester you wish to register for in
OneStart.

What is the waitlist?
The Waitlist is a way for you to reserve a seat in a class that is closed. In the event that someone should drop out of that class, you may take their seat if you have built a proper waitlist request. In other cases the department may increase the enrollment limit and those seats would be given first to students on the waitlist without conflicting conditions.
For example:
If you are 3rd on the waitlist, that means if 3 people drop that class and there are no conflicting conditions with your request, you will get that spot in the class.
Condition 1: The waitlisted class must not conflict with a class already on your schedule.
Condition 2: Some classes require department consent. You need to contact the correct department to obtain authorization for a class that you are waitlisting. Otherwise if a seat opens up, since you have not gotten authorized, that seat will be given to someone else who has taken that step.
Condition 3: You must not exceed the credit hour load for a given semester. If you waitlist a class and enrollment in it will bring your total credit hour load above the limit for the given semester, the waitlist will be processed ONLY if you use the Drop If Enrolled option. (See "How do I Waitlist a class and drop another class if I am enrolled via the waitlist?" in the FAQ)
Condition 4: If the waitlisted class remains full (no other students drop and the department does not increase the limit), your waitlist will not be processed.
