Policies and Fee Structure for Non-Instructional Use
Fees collected from the use of instructional space at IUPUI are used for the repair and replacement of classroom furnishings.
Category I: Internal Users
- Instructional use for credit courses
- Instructional use for non-credit courses
- Academic support activities (e.g., placement testing, orientation)
- Faculty/staff meetings
- Meetings of groups with a direct and obvious connection to the institution (e.g., speakers sponsored by a department, programs directed to current or potential students)
- Functions sponsored by university-recognized student organizations
Category II: External Users
- Meetings of non-profit agencies
- Meetings of civic groups
- State and federal agencies
Category III: External Users
- Groups charging for testing services other than IUPUI placement examinations
- External users at the discretion of a facility owner provided the use is consistent with the mission of the university and the goals of the academic unit (e.g., law review course)
Limitations on Use of University Facilities
Space will not be used for non-university fund raising or religious services. Religious organizations may request space for meetings if sponsored by a recognized student organization. Use must be consistent with applicable policies detailed in the Academic Handbook and the Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct.
Recommended Pricing Structure
The fact that a member of an outside group may be an employee of the institution will not have a bearing on which level of fee is to be charged.
Pricing will be reviewed on an annual basis and adjusted as market conditions warrant.

Additional Services and Charges
Users who require additional services, such as technology/a-v support services will be charged the full cost of these services through a separate billing.
Dedicated Technician ($35.00 per hour)
- Overtime rate charged on Saturdays and after 5:30 p.m. weekdays ($35.00 x 1.5 = $52.50 per hour).
- Overtime rate charged on Sundays ($35.00 x 2 = $70.00 per hour).
- A minimum of three hours technician time will be billed when a technician is requested during hours outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Conference Center Coordination
New requests for space from external users will be routed through the Conference Center to ensure coordination of services and effective use of facilities. The Conference Center will serve as a screening agent for these requests and will coordinate all aspects of booking space with the office controlling the space, including billing and collection of any fees.
